Career Experience

It all started when…

In 2004, I  graduated from the Academy of Art University with a Bachelor of fine arts degree and quickly landed a job designing for Gymboree. During my time there,  I learned to refine my skills and grew from Assistant to Associate Designer.  It was a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that required highly developed interpersonal skills and honed my ability to perform well under pressure.  Although I enjoyed my working experience at Gymboree I was motivated to explore life as an entrepreneur.

In January of 2009, I became owner/operator of a high-end clothing boutique (Bryan Lee).  I offered clothing and accessories for both men and women. As the owner, buyer, and chief sales rep, I gained experience and knowledge in fashion, business management, customer relations, marketing, trend forecasting, sales, merchandising, and an understanding of consumer needs.  As well, I produced a private label that offered women’s dresses, blouses, and accessories.

In 2013 was offered a teaching position at the Academy of Art University as a Fashion Design Instructor. I taught students the design process from inspiration to illustrating a fully coordinated fashion collection. Sharing the knowledge and experience I had gained through my previous experiences was highly rewarding work. As well, I gained valuable coaching skills that have served my career since.

While teaching at the Academy of Art University,  I continued to moonlight as a freelance designer at Gymboree. After 2 years, I was offered a permanent position that I couldn’t turn down. Since that time, I have enjoyed my position as the Senior Designer for Gymboree kids and toddlers, boy collections.
